About the Tourism Online Resource Centre (TORC)

The Tourism Online Resource Centre is an ever-expanding tourism and hospitality library available 24 hours a day, drawing on the strength of a knowledge network of colleges and universities offering tourism and hospitality programs.

TORC contains research links and reports, statistics and trends, news and current issues, all pertaining to tourism and hospitality. The initial collections on TORC were launched in early 2007 – and content has been growing daily ever since.

To use the site, browse the collections by clicking either "Industry Resources" or "Education Resources". Looking for something specific? Use the quick or advanced search features to pull up resources on a particular topic.

'Content contribution' is an important feature of TORC allowing users to log into the system and upload resources from anywhere in the world (pending approval of the TORC administrator). This feature means that LinkBC education and industry partners can actively participate in the construction of the site.

The Tourism Online Resource Centre is a service of the LinkBC Network, in partnership with organizations such as Tourism BC, the CTHRC, go2, The Council of Tourism Associations of BC, Aboriginal Tourism BC, and the Travel and Tourism Research Association (Canada Chapter). This network-developed resource depends on the regular contributions of the people who use it, so please let us know about information that might be missing.

For more information about how you can become a regular contributor to TORC,
